5 Things We're Really Proud of from 2015

2015 was an amazing year at Technology Pointe - one of, if not the best, any way you measure it. We had two things in particular we’re very, VERY proud of.

First is our customer retention – since 2013, we’ve had 99% customer retention each year, all without locking anyone into a contract. The second thing is we won Austin Business Journal’s #1 Best Place to Work. Our company was founded on the premise that you should love your job, look forward to work every day, and want develop a career here, and the ABJ award is a great validation that we’re on the right path.

99% Customer Retention – for the 3rd year in a row!

As I mentioned, we had yet another year with 99% customer retention. Our industry peers require long term contracts, we simply don’t do that.  We believe it’s our obligation to earn your business every day, not hold you hostage.  People keep telling us it can’t be done, but every chance I get, I tell people they do not need to be locked into a three, two or even one year contract for their IT services.

ABJ’s #1 Best Place to work in Austin

Competitors ask how we do it and I tell them it’s all about our team – Michael Slagel is our service manager and his entire team are ready to knock it out of the park for every client with every request. When you do have the need to call us, you will be greeted by Audrey Sissions-Torrez, our service dispatcher, quite possibly the friendliest person you’ll talk to all day, and she will ensure your request is quickly assigned to one of our top-notch support staff.

Austin and Dallas’ go to IT firm for law firms & engineers

We saw a large influx of clients in two industries, law firms and engineering/construction. The legal industry is very unique in both culture and requirements, and our long time experience working with firms has built us a reputation as a go to resource for law firm technology support. Through our partnership with M-Files we have gained extensive knowledge of document management and all the workflows associated with it, making technology help rather than get in the way. Our key support staff for law firms is Jeremy Myers, team lead, along with Pat Arnold, Phil Borrero and our newest team member, Scott Ahlfinger.

Engineering firms have a very large challenge in the 3d design software they use. Jay McKinney, team lead, has mastered the setup, management and support of the various applications, from AutoCAD to Solidworks. With hundreds of CAD users to support, Jay and his team – Philip Counts, Trae Cobern and Ryan Boone - ensure every client’s network is running in top shape so there are no glitches or slowdowns when they are designing models.

The cloud continues to grow

Although we started our cloud business in 2007, we’ve seen interest continue to grow every year in both private and public cloud services. We are seeing a massive increase in the number of companies moving to Office 365 this year. Stacey Frankeny, our project and products coordinator, is instrumental in ensuring your hardware and software needs as well as projects, are delivered on time and on budget.

IT Projects on-time and under budget

Speaking of projects, our engineers had a banner year for streamlining projects and completing them on time and under budget. Chris Marshall, Jason Slagel, Anthony Cabral and Jeff Ross spend their days upgrading networks and installing servers in addition to providing support and maintaining our two datacenters.

So here’s to a great 2015, and to an even better 2016!
