We've been getting a lot of questions about the recent changes to Google's search and how it relates to mobile websites. Here are the key changes you need to know about:

  • The latest changes only effect search results when people are searching on their mobile devices.
  • The quality of your website on a mobile device effects your search ranking when someone searches on their mobile device.
  • This applies only to individual pages, not your whole site (although by applying to all pages, it technically can).

The key thing many people are misunderstanding is that your search results from somebody searching on a laptop/desktop are not affected by these changes.
